PUISSANCE "Hail the Mushroom Cloud"
/
Fluttering Dragon 012

ELD RICH PALMER

Having released two albums and a 7" for Cold Meat Industry, the Swedish eulogists of the nuclear apocalypse went over to Warsaw based label Fluttering Dragon for which they recorded their best album ever - "Mother of Disease". To my discontent, since then their artistic condition has seemed to be in a sort of decline. "War On" was but a compilation of refurbished tracks from previous albums plus two unreleased pieces, and "Hail the Mushroom Cloud" offers only 20 minutes of music that fails to live up to what you could expect from the authors of "Mother of Disease". Not that these 4 tracks are a total disappointment, but it seems to me that the might and majesty those misanthropes have been (in)famous for is not as mind-blowing as on "Back in Control" or the third CD. Even the good old increasing of volume, which used to be requisite for exposing the power of the previous albums, is no help this time. The album for fans - with stuff like that it might be a bit difficult to find any desperados prepared to blow up the nearest reactor...
